Bored

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not the most patient person in the world, but my god am I bored today!

I had to take the day off work to wait in for someone to come and install my home tv and internet, they gave me the very vague time of between 8am and 6pm - great!

I got a good deal with a virgin media promotional code online so I shouldn't complain too much, but it's a day out of my holiday allowance and I feel like I'm wasting it sat in my house watching Miami Ink and eating loads of food out of boredom!

I really want to go and do something with my day off, I was hoping that the guy would get here early so I could go out but I'm literally stuck in the house until he turns up!

Tut tut technology!

I'm really not having much luck with technology these days!

I blogged last week about the problems I'm having with my laptop's decreasing memory capacity, and now my digital camera is playing up too!

No matter how long I charge the power for, it just does not hold power for very long. I'll charge it for a full day and then be able to take a few photos over a couple of hours and then it's dead.

From looking online it doesn't seem to show up as a common problem for the camera or the nb-4l battery, but I don't understand what I've done, I've always charged it when it's completely drained, or near enough, so I don't mess with the catheter or whatever it is that everyone says, so I don't know what the problem is. But now I have to buy a replacement, fun times.

Memory Problems

No, before you make any silly comments, I'm not getting senile!

I'm having so many problems with my crunky old PC laptop, the memory capacity has just disappeared! I've deleted most of my files and loads of applications to try and free up some space but it's not working at all.

I've stored loads of files on my iPod which is almost full now, and have gone to really desperate measures by taking out the SDHC card from my R4 - it's a full 32GB, so it's been a life-saver in keeping some of my photos from disappearing into the abyss that is this horrible old computer's memory!

I desperately need a new computer, I'm trying to get by with this and save my money so I can buy a beautiful new iMac. I think my life would be better, plain and simple just better if I had an iMac in my life.

Fashionistas

I love my sisters, but my God I don't understand them. I know not all women are like this, but my sisters seem to be prime examples of fashion victims.

They came to see me over the weekend, and I don't know what they were wearing, it was the strangest collection of clothes I've ever seen. One of them was wearing the most ridiculously high shoes I'm surprised she didn't suffer from vertigo. They were like typical women's heels but with and extra platform to make them even bigger, she could barely walk in them!

The other was wearing the longest dress I've seen that wasn't a wedding dress, she called it a maxi dress, but I'm sure they're designed for much taller women than her, she was having to hold it up to stop from tripping over it the whole time.

Is it really worth all the hassle?

Saving

Why is saving money so difficult and, well, boring? I swear as people we are meant to enjoy spending money, we all love buying things, that's why we're all in debt - we can't help it, it's in our nature to consume!

I'm trying to save for my future, pensions only go so far, but it's difficult. I'd like to be able to invest some money in stocks or a company or something so I can make some nice interest, but I don't know where to start. I'm thinking of making an appointment at Rowan Dartington with an investment banker or private wealth manager, to see what my options are. Or if I even have enough money to invest!

But it's so boring saving money, if I have it, I'd rather spend it somehow! Buying things, going places, eating out, whatever!
